Survival Camp in Salem will teach kids and teens how to avoid being abducted
Would your child know how to react if someone tried to abduct him or her?
A self defense instructor in Salem is offering a camp on Saturday to give kids the tools they need to protect themselves.
Brian Cuthbert is the owner of Phoenix Self Defense Company.
One of his biggest worries is the rash of abductions and other crimes against children.
That's why he's come up with a one- day survival camp for kids ages five to 15.
Cuthbert says during the five-hour camp, kids will learn how to recognize potential threats, awareness and evasion techniques, strikes and escapes, as well as what to do if someone tries to abduct them.
Survival Camp is Saturday, June 18 from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Phoenix Self Defense in Salem.
The cost is $45.00 per child, and includes lunch.
Each camper will also receive a certificate.
You can register your child by calling 540-750-1171, or emailing them at email@example.com.
