More sunshine as we head toward the weekend
Our wedge setup starts to erode; sunshine and warmer air returns
- Watch out for some patchy fog this morning
- Isolated shower/drizzle today
- Clearing up for the weekend
THURSDAY & FRIDAY
Our cool air wedge will start to erode today which will lead to a few more breaks of sunshine. The little sunshine we do get will help warm our temperatures across the region. Afternoon highs will read in the upper 60s and low to mid 70s.

We still can’t rule out a few pockets of mist, drizzle or a light rain shower.
Closing out the workweek we could still see some stray showers early Friday followed by partial clearing. Temperatures will warm in the 70s for many hometowns.
EARLY LOOK AT THE WEEKEND
High pressure will build in this weekend leading to a drier weather pattern. Afternoon highs will start to warm back up into the 70s (near seasonable!) Clouds will decrease during the day on Saturday with mostly sunny skies by Sunday.

High pressure will continue to hover over our region even past the weekend. This isn’t good news for folks under the severe and moderate drought. Beneficial rain is not looking likely for the next 7 days.

DROUGHT MONITOR
The drought monitor updates every Thursday morning. Because of our recent dry stretches, some of our hometowns are now included in a Severe and Moderate drought. A Severe Drought is more extreme than Moderate, but regardless we are witnessing very dry conditions for our viewing area.
TROPICS
The tropics remain active as we work through the peak of hurricane season. For our interactive tracking map and more information, visit our Hurricane Center.
