Franklin County house deemed total loss following Monday morning fire

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - Fire crews extinguished a house fire Monday morning, about four miles from Boones Mill in Franklin County.

The house is in the 300 block of Rolling Hill Drive.

Investigators said the home was full engulfed about 30 minutes before crews knocked down the flames. The house is a total loss, with the Red Cross helping the displaced family.

No one was home at the time of the fire, which was reported at 5:42 a.m.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.

The roof collapsed and a car was damaged in the fire.
