2 shot in downtown Roanoke early Sunday

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - Two men were shot in downtown Roanoke Sunday morning. According to police, officers responded at approximately 1:31 a.m. to the 100 block of Campbell Avenue SE, after hearing numerous gunshots.

Officers found a man with what appeared to be serious gunshot wounds. He was transported to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital by Roanoke Fire-EMS.

While officers were on scene, they were advised that a second man, with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries from a gunshot wound, had arrived at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital by a personal car.

It was determined these injuries were from the same incident.

No arrests have been made.

Around the same time of this shooting, a large crowd was downtown at a silent disco event in Market Square called “Shhhh Issa Silent Party.”
